Apparently Shaq Also Believes Kyrie Irving’s Flat Earth Theory
Cavs guard Kyrie Irving caught some flak last month when he appeared on a podcast and espoused his belief—nay, his conviction—that the earth is flat.
“This is not even a conspiracy theory,” Irving said. “The earth is flat.”
It is?
“It’s right in front of our faces,” Irving added. “I’m telling you, it’s right in front of our faces. They lie to us.”
Kyrie is just an anomaly, though, right? He’s the only well-known member of the NBA community who believes the earth is flat, right? Wrong.
On the contrary, first we learned Draymond Green might be in Kyrie’s corner. And now it sure sounds like Shaquille O’Neal agrees with Kyrie, too, per a recent discussion on his podcast, The Big Podcast With Shaq (be sure to read the comments).
“So, listen. I drive from coast to coast and this shit is flat to me,” Shaq said. “I’m just saying.”
His co-host, John Kincade, was aghast. He told Shaq that was “the dumbest thing he has ever said.” But the legend doubled down on his comments.
“I drive from Florida to California all the time, and it’s flat to me,” O’Neal said. “I do not go up and down at a 360-degree angle, and all that stuff about gravity. Have you looked outside Atlanta lately and seen all these buildings? You mean to tell me that China is under us? China is under us? It’s not. The world is flat.”
The former Lakers center and current Inside The NBA commentator is a notorious joker, but it sure doesn’t seem like he’s kidding. So, who will come out of the woodwork next? Could this open the floodgates of retired NBA flat-Earthers?
