Telstra debunks 5G conspiracy theories in online content series
Telstra is taking on 5G conspiracy theorists in a new online content series starring satirist and presenter Mark Humphries.
The telco is launching the series to disprove the myriad of conspiracy theories being thrown around social media by “a very small but very vocal minority”.
Humphries has been enlisted to get to the bottom of things and debunk the myths around 5G.
Humphries will star alongside Telstra’s EME expert Mike Wood in the content series to shine a scientific and satirical light on weird and wacky conspiracy theories, tackle the big issues and deal with different myths including:
- “5G is spreading coronavirus”
- “5G hasn’t been tested”
- “There’s a USB stick that can protect me from 5G”
- “5G is ruining the environment”
- “5G damages DNA”
The new online content series will be a lighter, factual look behind the 5G conspiracy theories, disproving them one-at-a-time.
The first episode will go live tomorrow on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
