QAnon follows other far-right conspiracy theories, including those that have swirled for years around Democratic-supporting financier George Soros. One of the most prominent conspiracies, that became known as “Pizzagate,” maintained that a child sex slave ring was operating from a pizza restaurant in Washington, D.C., during the 2016 presidential race between Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton.
