Bradford’s Covid vaccine ambassadors to inoculate against conspiracy theories

Since Bradford went into local lockdown in August, the city’s authorities have been dealing with some of the highest Covid-19 rates in the country. Now they are braced for a second fight — against disinformation and “antivax” conspiracy theories that spread as quickly as the virus.

“There’s a lot of concern, a lot of hesitancy about the vaccine in all our communities but particularly in our South Asian communities,” Professor John Wright, an epidemiologist and director of Bradford Institute for Health Research, said. “There are three races here: one is to get a safe and effective vaccine.
