“Ashes to Ashes”: A discussion with Taylor Rees, director of “Ashes to Ashes,” the story of leatherwork artist Winfred Rembert’s survival of an attempted lynching in 1967 and his friendship with Dr. Shirley Jackson Whitaker. Whitaker will also participate; she is working to memorialize the 4,000 African Americans lynched during the Jim Crow era. Event is hosted by the Commonwealth Club. Noon. More information is here.
