During the recent Australian Open final trophy presentation, fans booed Jayne Hrdlicka, the president of Tennis Australia, for praising Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines.

After Hrdlicka made mention of the vaccines, thanking Big Pharma for their creation, fans could be heard loudly opposing the sentiment, much to the surprise of Hrdlicka and the obese man that was standing behind her (watch below).

Upon awarding Novak Djokovic his ninth championship crown, bringing his total Grand Slam haul to 18, Hrdlicka took some time to thank everyone involved in the Australian Open, including its sponsors. She then got political by discussing how sports will look in Australia once the Chinese virus vaccine receives wider rollout.

“With vaccinations on the way, rolling out in many countries around the world, it’s now a time for optimism and hope for the future,” Hrdlicka stated, quickly realizing that this statement was not welcomed by the Melbourne crowd.

Cameras zoomed around trying to dodge Hrdlicka’s awkwardness upon realizing that Australians are not too keen on mass vaccination.

Crowd also booed Hrdlicka after she thanked Victorian government for coronavirus response

This did not stop Hrdlicka from continuing to put her foot in her mouth by thanking the Victorian government for the role it played in locking down the region and stomping on people’s rights.

“The top of that list (to thank) is the Victorian government,” Hrdlicka announced to more boos from the crowd. “Without you, we could not have done this.”

Desperate to get some kind of support, Hrdlicka wrapped up her speech at Rod Laver Arena by offering “another big thank you … to our fans,” which slightly boosted crowd morale.

“All of you have helped make this a very, very special occasion,” she added. “You are a very opinionated group of people, but whether you’re at home or here tonight, we are really thankful that you’re here. We look forward to seeing you next year.”

Braindead Twitter users blast booers for opposing precious WuFlu vaccines

As is usually the case on Twitter, users were quick to side with the government and its promotion of Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines rather than with the free thinkers at the Australian Open who were not about to cheer for tyranny.

“Sports journalist” James Gray expressed fake outrage over the display, claiming that he “actually can’t believe what I’ve just witnessed.”

“Australian Open final crowd booing the Covid vaccine,” Gray whined.

When other Twitter users challenged Gray, he responded in usual Twitter form by being both sarcastic and sensationalistic, clutching the pearls of coronavirus propaganda.

“You’re right,” Gray said to someone who asked whether it was really necessary for Hrdlicka to mention a vaccine “in a sport presentation speech.”

“The idiot. Bringing up something controversial as a life-saving, world-changing vaccine. What a fool.”

Another journalist named Isabelle Lane offered a more balanced assessment of the situation, calling it “one of the strangest sporting events Melbourne has ever hosted.”

“Tennis Australia boss Jayne Hrdlicka booed by parts of crowd when mentioning the coronavirus vaccine rollout and thanking the Victorian government for the event,” Lane tweeted, suggesting that the people in Melbourne made the event possible, not the Victorian government.

“Hrdlicka notably failed to thank the people of Melbourne / Vic,” she added. “Novak Djokovic thanks ‘this court’ and ‘Rod Laver Arena,’ but again, not the people of Melbourne / Victoria. A weird unsatisfying conclusion to one of the strangest sporting events Melbourne has ever hosted.”

The generally encouraging sentiment in Australia seems to be one of citizens opposing government intrusion into their lives. Will the United States ever follow suit?
