Cleveland Browns QB Reports UFO at Lake Travis

LAKE TRAVIS, Texas — It’s a tweet that’s raising some eyebrows as well as a lot of interest. Cleveland Browns quarterback and Austin native Baker Mayfield on Wednesday reported he and his wife spotted a UFO at Lake Travis, which is just northwest of Austin in Central Texas.

Mayfield tweeted that he and his wife, Emily Mayfield, were driving home from dinner when they spotted the object.

“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner… we stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it… Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?” he wrote.

The account of the sighting was corroborated by Emily Mayfield.

“I won’t lie… I’m typically not someone who buys into UFO talk. But all I know is… I saw something tonight that I have never seen. And I’m a little thrown off,” she wrote.

Such reports really aren’t all that uncommon. The New York Post, citing the National UFO Reporting Center, stated that UFO sightings were up roughly 51% in 2020. There were more than 5,000 sightings reported in the U.S. and Canada as of September.
