Gina Carano’s Latest AntiVax Tweet Slapped With Misleading Information Warning

Gina Carano made her name in MMA, and it’s becoming clear she may have been hit in the head once too often. After being fired by Disney for comparing being conservative to being Jewish during the Holocaust, she’s been busy carving out a niche for herself as a cheerleader for COVID-19.

Among her pro-virus moves are repeatedly criticizing mask-wearing, saying that COVID passports are equivalent to forcing gay people to show ID during the HIV pandemic, and sharing memes that discourage people from getting vaccinated.

Her latest antivax tweet (which I won’t repost) claims that she knows someone who passed away as a direct result of being vaccinated, saying that the vaccine took out a healthy 56-year-old woman in three days. She goes on to say that the “Biden mandates are murdering these people”.

Twitter promptly slapped a misinformation warning on it, so if she keeps on posting like this (which she almost certainly will) she faces being banned from the platform altogether.

It’s worth pointing out why Carano’s tweets are so dangerous. The CDC reports that we’re now experiencing a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”. 25% of Americans have not received a single shot and those in this group now comprise 99% of COVID deaths.

If you think misinformation like this is harmless, take a trip over to the sobering r/HermainCainAward on Reddit and check out the countless stories of smug people reposting these exact kinds of antivax lies ending up dead from the virus.

Carano is also in danger of alienating her usual supporters. For example, Ben Shapiro has been on her side throughout her firing from Disney, but even he said “get the vaccine, dopes” in a tweet praising its efficacy.

For the sake of the few that still take her seriously, let’s hope that obscurity beckons for Gina Carano sooner rather than later.

Serves her right for spreading lies.

Lies? The vaccine is experimental. Usually, they would still be testing it on lab rats. Now, I don’t know if her claim is true that the person actually died because of the vaccine, but I am seeing quite a bit of correlation where people with heart problems are dying soon after getting the vaccine. Plus, there have been a lot of cases where fully vaccinated people get COVID anyway. I’m generally not anti-vax, but I like to see a few years worth of data before getting a shot. Besides that, Twitter is supposedly a platform. Not a publisher. They should not be able to kick people off for saying stuff that the big cheese doesn’t agree with, and yet here we are.

Where did you get the moronic idea that platforms aren’t allowed regulate themselves just because they aren’t publishers? If you break the terms of service, they can kick you off. It’s worked this way since the beginning of the internet. It’s not going to magically change all of a sudden because a bunch of halfwits suddenly decided that they badly want to spread medical misinformation.

I’m so tired of this disingenuous framing of “they’re kicking her off for saying something the big cheese doesn’t agree with”.

Wrong. People say stuff on Twitter that Jack Dorsey disagrees with every minute of every day without getting kicked off. Gina is only having an issue because she’s spreading medical misinformation in the middle of a global pandemic and violating the Terms of Service.

Yes, lies. She has claimed, without evidence, that someone she knows has died as a direct result of getting the vaccine – something that is almost unheard of. Was she present at the autopsy? Does she have access to the medical examiners report? What she said is no different to the nonsense Nicky Minaj has been saying.

“but I am seeing quite a bit of correlation” – Correlation is not causation. You have no way of knowing what is causing those deaths. If they have heart conditions, then how on earth do you know it isn’t the heart conditions that are the cause of death? What evidence or research do you have to back your claims up? Or are you, just like Gina, assuming?

“Plus, there have been a lot of cases where fully vaccinated people get COVID anyway” – Of course there are. At best, the vaccine is only 92% effective, and at worst, its only 62% effective – which is still nearly double the effectiveness of the annual flu vaccination. There will always be break through cases, but the chances of deaths and hospitalisations plummet after the second dose.

“They should not be able to kick people off for saying stuff that the big cheese doesn’t agree with” – You might want to go and read the terms and conditions you agree to when you sign up with them. That’s why trump still hasn’t been allowed back.

I am calling out WGTC for posting false and misleading information. Gina Carano has been very clear in her social media that she has never been against the vaccine itself. It does seem that she is against the idea of the gov. mandating or forcing people to get the shot. Secondly why is the opinion of an actress anymore dangerous than thousands of other people who feel the same way? Like if you are relying on Gina Carano to tell you how to think and what to do what does that say about you? The article mentions Ben Shapiro – her opinion appears to be the same as his. He encourages people to get vaxed but is against vax mandates. This is not an unusual opinion so this article is a non story.

You’re a liar. Gina absolutely DID make the comments alleged in this article.

She went WAY beyond simply saying that she didn’t want a government mandate. She’s lying and fear mongering about the vaccine supposedly killing a bunch of healthy people.
