Candace Cameron Bure: I’m not anti-vax, I’m just pro-medical freedom

Candace Cameron Bure is clarifying her stance on the COVID-19 vaccine, telling her Instagram followers that it’s not about what she’s “against” but rather what she’s “for.”

The former “Full House” star shared a series of graphics by Instagram account @thegirlnamedblake that expressed, “I’m not anti-v, I’m just pro-medical freedom.”

Another graphic read, “I’m not anti-v, I’m just pro-immune system.”

Bure echoed the messaging in her caption, writing, “This. This is not about what I am against. This is what I am FOR. Read and understand the distinction 🙏🏻,” she captioned her post.

“This mama is holding the line and standing up for freedom. This should not separate us. We can have different opinions and still respect and love one another. Be bigger than that!”

The “A Shoe Addict’s Christmas” star, 45, previously shared on an Instagram Story that she would not disclose her vaccination status but made it clear she was adamantly against vaccine mandates.

“I can no longer stay silent on vaccine mandates. Although I will not disclose my vaccination status to you, I am absolutely opposed to vaccine MANDATES, anywhere,” she wrote in a since-expired Story from September. “We must speak up.”

Bure’s anti-mandate stance goes back to at least 2015 when she wrote in a Facebook post that she respected her children’s schools for giving them a choice over vaccines.

“Although my children are vaccinated, I’m glad I had the choice when it comes to school. I have many family and friends who choose not to vaccinate for different reasons,” she wrote. “Some of them already homeschool and my guess is that [a] whole lot more in California are going to. SHOUTOUT to HOMESCHOOL PARENTS and CO-OPS.”

Other celebrities who have spoken out against the COVID vaccine include Letitia Wright, Vicki Gunvalson, Doutzen Kroes and Eric Clapton.
