Georgia gubernatorial candidate David Perdue joined a lawsuit to further examine claims of alleged fraud in Georgia’s 2020 elections.

In a statement released on Friday, Perdue claimed there were serious violations in the counting of absentee ballots in Fulton County, which is the state’s most populous jurisdiction. The Republican also said he wanted a judge to consider the alleged evidence after officials conduct a forensic audit.

The move comes after Perdue launched his campaign for governor and slammed current Gov. Brian Kemp (R) for certifying last year’s election results.

“It’s simple. He has failed all of us and cannot win in November. Instead of protecting our elections, he caved to Abrams and cost us two Senate seats…the Senate majority and gave Joe Biden free reign. Think about how different it would be today if Kemp had fought Abrams first instead of fighting Trump. Kemp caved before the election and the country is paying the price today,” Perdue said in his campaign video.

In an interview after launching his first gubernatorial campaign, Perdue said he wouldn’t have certified Georgia’s 2020 election results if he were governor.
