Have aliens come to visit to London during the midst of a simmering heatwave?

If so, they’ve chosen to do so in three small metal UFOs that were snapped above the capital earlier this week and shared on social media.

According to the blog UFO Sightings Footage, these three metallic orbs were recorded making turns over west London on Tuesday, July 12.

Described as being ‘like balloons’, only with an independent ability to change direction, the folks behind the blog are convinced these weird ‘orbs’ are extraterrestrial in origin.

Glossing over the fact the wind influences the direction of balloons, the site states: ‘Balloon’s can’t change direction, the only thing that could achieve this type of manoeuvring in the sky would be a UFO that’s under intelligent control? Or it’s autonomous and learning as it goes?’

‘UFO Orbs are everywhere in the world at the moment, it’s likely that we’re all seeing surveillance drones just like the one’s we’ve sent out to survey the deepest parts of space called Voyager 1 and 2.’

There appears to be very little evidence anywhere else on the web to corroborate this claim, so we’re taking it with a larger-than-average pinch of salt.

However, a video allegedly captured three days earlier appears to show similar shapes moving in the sky above Hemel Hempstead, north of London.

While we have no real way of knowing what these shapes are, the chances of alien visitors are on the slim side.

Interestingly though, if they actually were to be UFOs, the UK government wouldn’t have much in the way of plans to study them.

Last year, the government went on the record saying it didn’t have any interest in investigating UFOs above this country because it it hasn’t observed military threats in ‘over 50 years’.

Responding to questions asked in the House of Lords in the summer of 2021, Baroness Goldie responded on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) that the government ‘holds no reports on unidentified aerial phenomena’.

Baroness Goldie was responding to questions from former Conservative Party treasurer Lord Sarfraz, who asked questions to the Lords on Wedneday.

‘For decades people who have been concerned with UFOs have been dismissed as fantasists,’ Lord Sarfraz said.

‘But now the US director of national intelligence, who oversees 17 intelligence agencies, has published a report saying that data on UFOs is inconclusive.

‘The report offers several possible explanations.

‘It does not rule out that these could be military aircraft with very fast capabilities or even extraterrestrial phenomena.

‘Either way can the minister reassure members of the public that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) takes reports of unidentified objects in our airspace very seriously?’

Lord Sarfraz was referencing a US Pentagon report into UFOs which said that military pilots had seen 144 sightings they couldn’t explain since 2004.

In response to Lord Sarfraz’ questions, Baroness Goldie said that the while the MoD doesn’t hold information on UAPs, it ‘constantly monitors UK airspace to identify and respond to any credible threat to its integrity, and is confident in the existing measures in place to protect it’

Meanwhile, the MoD says it continues to have ‘no opinion’ on the existence, or otherwise, of extraterrestrial life and does not investigate reported unidentified flying object sightings.

A spokesperson for the department told Metro.co.uk: ‘Since 2009 the MOD no longer responds to reported UFO sightings, or investigates them as in over 50 years, no UFO report has revealed any evidence of a potential threat to the United Kingdom.’
