A UFO sighting in Kennewick? What one man’s camera captured – YakTriNews KAPP-KVEW

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Kennewick resident and business owner Travis Hissong captured something unknown on his iPhone this week.

“It was about 4:30 when I noticed it,” he said.

It was Monday morning, when Hissong stepped outside of his east Kennewick home, before heading to work as the owner of Tri-City Landscaping and Maintenance.

“Such a clear sky, so I was just looking at all the stars then out of the corner of my left eye I saw what appeared to be a falling star and then as I focused in on it, I was like that is not a falling star,” he said.

In the dark morning sky, Travis wasn’t sure what he was seeing.

“So, I ran into the house real quick, grabbed my phone, started videotaping so that’s what you get with that first video,” he said.

The first thing that came to Hissong’s mind:

“Oh UFO, not necessarily extraterrestrial but specifically an unidentified flying object.”

Then, 24 hours later, Hissong captured a second video, same time, at a different location in the sky. This time, the streak of light appeared in smaller balls instead of one long streak.

A UFO sighting in Washington wouldn’t be unheard of.

According to the National UFO Reporting Center, there have been some recent UFO sighting in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas.

KAPP KVEW turned to Pilot and Aviation Journalist Mark Miller for some help.

“I’ve been flying since I was nine,” Miller smiled.

Miller said we have to take into account nearby Air Force Bases or other government entities, and when determining if something is a UFO, you have to look at its flight pattern.

“But when we start to see aircraft or start to see lights moving in really weird ways — and things are different than the physical dynamics that we’re familiar with and that’s when we start to ask the question, what is this?” he said.

Mark, believes the lights may be Starlink, which did have a launch on Sunday.

“So it seems to kind of line-up. I think what we might be seeing in this video is that sort of early release,” Miller said.

But, for this to appear at the same time, in different fashions, near the Tri-Cities, Travis still has some questions left unanswered.

“Not saying that there’s aliens in there, but who knows?”
