Moon Landing

Moon landing conspiracy theorist is mocked on The Chaser

A contestant from Channel Seven’s The Chaser has been mocked mercilessly online after emerging as a conspiracy theorist on the hit show.

In a pre-quiz interview with host Larry Emdur during Thursday’s episode, Laura, a mother-of-two, said she believed that the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing never happened.

Larry then began Laura’s round of questions by asking the name of the first person to set foot on the moon. She then answered correctly: ‘Neil Armstrong.’

Another viewer suggested, ‘her correct answer would have been “do your own research”.’

Other users got creative in their criticism of the Chaser contestant, with one commenting: ‘Neil Armstrong is an anagram of Mr Strong Alien -it was staring us in the face the whole time!’

One viewer suggested: ‘So Neil Armstrong must be an alien then?’

In their pre-round chat, Laura had told Larry she loved conspiracy theories.

‘No,’ she said. Larry, known for his good nature, smiled as he pressed the issue: ‘Absolutely not?

Without hesitation Laura said: ‘Armstrong.’
