Witnesses in Wisconsin share videos of possible UFO sighting
Strange lights shooting across rural Wisconsin skies this month were filmed by witnesses in multiple stunning videos obtained by DailyMail.com – with one having a spooky up-close encounter.
The footage from December 1 shows bright white lights zipping across cloudy skies over the rolling farmland near West Bend and Fredonia, Wisconsin.
Moving at incredible speeds and appearing to come from above the thin cloud layer that night, the phenomena left witnesses believing they had seen a true UFO display.
Unlike most incidents from a single blurry, shaky camera, this case has at least two witnesses who did not know each other and filmed the lights at the same time from different locations, according to their video metadata.
A salon owner identified only as Kimberly, 52, shared videos of the phenomenon with DailyMail.com after she witnessed strange bright lights flashing over the night skies while driving on a rural road in West Bend, Wisconsin the night of December 1
At the same time, about five miles northeast in Fredonia, Ken, a former police officer and financial services worker, had spotted the lights in the sky over the fields outside his home
DailyMail.com obtained videos from Kimberly, 52, a salon owner from West Bend, and Ken, 54, a former police officer and financial services worker in Fredonia. The ara is around 35 miles north of Milwaukee.
Both asked not to share their last names.
Kimberly said she was driving home with her husband on Wallace Lake Road, West Bend, at around 10:45pm when they encountered something strange just a few feet from their car.
‘All of a sudden we saw what looked to be a white owl swoop from the upper right hand top of the trees, down in front of the headlights, and up to the left,’ she told DailyMail.com.
Three of the sightings were first discovered by former FBI agent Ben Hansen, host of the show UFO Witness on Discovery+
Kimberly, 52, said on rare occasions they would see an owl flit past their headlights while driving on country roads.
But they were both unsettled when the white object – which seemed to give off its own glow – swooped in front of their car three more times.
‘We’ve never seen even two in a row,’ she said. ‘We looked at each other and went, ‘okay, this is not an owl, what the heck is going on here?’
It was then that they began to see the white lights in the sky above them.
‘And as we’re both leaning forward into the windshield, we start seeing these lights, similar to what I caught in the video,’ she said.
‘We just couldn’t wrap our heads around what we were seeing.
‘It kept moving to the east,’ she added. ‘We watched it for several minutes before it even clicked in my head, I have my phone, I could record this. And then we pulled over to do that.
‘There was no sound to it. It was a pretty clear and normal Wisconsin night without any crazy weather.’
The sightings took place across rural areas of Wisconsin and even in Michigan
A third witness, Andrea Lynn, saw similar eerie lights flashing in the sky outside her home about 80 miles north in Howard, Wisconsin
In the first video, filmed from a suburban sidewalk into the cloudy sky, one white light appears and then three more flash on in a triangular shape around it, disappear, then the central light moves off at high speed and disappears over the horizon
Andrea Lynn filmed four extraordinary videos of multicolored lights flashing and shared the footage on Facebook
Kimberly said rather than lights shining up from the ground, she had the impression they were ‘in the sky shining down at us.’
Videos from Kimberly and Ken both capture a moment where four of the lights appear in a row, with a fifth flying in from the left to join them in formation.
All five then shoot off towards the eastern horizon.
Earlier in Kimberly’s video, the lights appear in one tight cluster overhead, then split off into about four separate lights and fly away to the east.
Ken, 54, started filming after he noticed the lights in the sky over the fields outside his home in Fredonia, Wisconsin, about five miles northeast of Kimberly and at the same time.
Weather data shows there were clouds but no storms with thunder or lightning in the area that night.
And a Milwaukee Federal Aviation Administration controller with access to radar data from the area up to 13,000ft said: ‘I see nothing on radar – not even an airplane.’
A third witness posted videos on Facebook from outside her home earlier that evening around 7pm, about 80 miles north in Howard, Wisconsin.
Andrea Lynn filmed four extraordinary videos of multicolored lights flashing, swooping in circles and darting across the sky.
‘Has anyone in the Green Bay area seen the random groups of lights in the sky flying around? Any idea on what they are?’ she wrote in her social media post.
‘I reached out to the National Weather service, and they told me they saw the same lights again a week later.’
In the first video, filmed from a suburban sidewalk into the cloudy sky, one white light appears and then three more flash on in a triangular shape around it, disappear, then the central light moves off at high speed and disappears over the horizon.
In the second video a yellowish light blazes across the sky in an arc, stops momentarily then makes a 90-degree change of direction.
In Greenfield, Wisconsin, teacher Chris Nowak was traveling in the car with his wife and their two kids on December 2 when the family spotted ‘a row of illumination through the clouds’ above them
Nowak had been traveling to see the Candy Cane Lane lights in West Allis, Wisconsin – a festive tradition for the family when his wife alerted him to the strange lights in the sky
That same night, hundreds of miles away on the other side of Lake Michigan, two women – Kenna and Tasha Lynn VanBrocklyn – driving on a highway in Brighton, Michigan caught similar lights on camera
It speeds off, then another line of lights appear in a very similar display to that captured by Ken and Kimberly three hours later.
Lynn’s third video is of a blue light hovering in the clouds, and her fourth is of two yellow lights dancing around the sky, coming together for a second then darting away out of view.
A day later on December 2, about 35 miles away in Greenfield, Wisconsin, teacher Chris Nowak was traveling in the car with his wife and their two kids to the Candy Cane Lane lights in West Allis, Wisconsin – a festive tradition for the family.
While heading north on Interstate 43 over the Fox River overpass at about 6:55pm, his wife alerted him to similar odd lights in the cloudy sky.
‘I’ve really never seen anything like it before,’ Nowak told DailyMail.com. ‘It was like a row of illumination through the clouds, and it would pulse through the sky incredibly quickly.
‘For the entire 20 miles that we drove we continued to see it,’ he said. ‘There was no rhythm to it… it was moving from a southwest to northeast direction, and then from a northeast to southwest direction sometimes as well.’
After five minutes of the display he pulled into a church parking lot in Greenfield and started filming, capturing what was now a ‘purplish-blue’ light hovering in the thick clouds, then streaks of white lights.
‘It shot through the clouds and broke off into like three different beams from there. It moved at an incredible speed. It cleared down to the edge of the entire sky very, very quickly,’ he said.
Like Kimberly, Nowak also dismissed searchlights on the ground as a possible explanation.
Weather data shows there were clouds but no storms with thunder or lightning in West Bend at the time Kimberly witnessed the strange event in the skies
Weather data on December 2 did not show any phenomenon that could account for the strange lights
According to Nowak, his meteorologist friend could not find an explanation for the videos either
‘I’ve seen spotlights, we’ve taken our kids to Disney,’ he said.
‘You see spotlights on clouds… That just has a much different look than what we were seeing.
Nowak showed the videos to a meteorologist friend who had no explanation either, and struggled to come up with a weather phenomenon that could account for the strange lights.
That night, hundreds of miles away on the other side of Lake Michigan, two women driving on a highway in Brighton, Michigan caught similar lights on camera.
Kenna and Tasha Lynn VanBrocklyn posted on Facebook a video of bright white lights dancing in the clouds.
The weird phenomena caused one to shout: ‘What the actual f*** dude.’
Others commented on VanBrocklyns’ video saying they believed their sighting was nearby searchlights or a light show at a local country club.
Ken, Kimberly, and Chris’s sightings were first discovered by former FBI agent Ben Hansen, host of the show UFO Witness on Discovery+.
Hansen worked with DailyMail.com to investigate the cases.
‘When you take into consideration the totality of the circumstances of what was witnessed and where it was filmed, this case just becomes more and more compelling,’ Hansen said.
He added that he believed Ken and Kimberly’s sightings were hard to explain away as searchlights.
‘The more we’re learning about the industry’s most advanced searchlights and their limitations, there are several things that just don’t add up,’ the ex-FBI agent said.
‘Not only is there no evidence that any advertising spotlights have recently been permitted or used in this very rural area, the intensity and speed of the lights doesn’t comport with conventional technology.
‘It’s interesting to note that the majority of worldwide UFO sightings are now reported as ‘light anomalies’ and not traditional shapes such as disks, cylinders, or triangles that normally come to mind.
‘These latest sightings are kind of reminiscent of the ‘Foo Fighter’ lights that were described by pilots during WWII or the lights that buzzed Washington D.C. in 1952.’
