Communists Target Conservatives With Disinformation

By Cliff Kincaid

There are several major themes of communist disinformation which permeate parts of the “conservative” movement. One is that because former President Trump was falsely accused of being a Russian agent, all allegations of Russian influence in the American political system are without merit. The second is that a U.S. alliance with Russia is possible and that American support for Ukraine is driving Russia into the arms of the Communist Chinese.  A subsidiary is that the Jewish president of Ukraine is a Nazi.

In the first place, the Russians originated the idea that Trump was a Russian agent. The Steele dossier which drove the FBI investigation contained Russian disinformation from Russian sources about Trump. All of this has been firmly established.

It’s a fact that the Democratic Party utilized that disinformation for the purpose of destroying Trump. But the Russians were behind it from the beginning.

What this tells us about the current Russian regime, led by former KGB Colonel Vladimir Putin, is that not much has changed from the days when Russia was Soviet Russia. Russia is as anti-American as the old Soviet Union. The invasion of Ukraine, first under Obama and then under Biden, reflects the old Soviet ambition of expanding territory and in fact conquering the world. It is noteworthy that Putin, who wants to re-establish the old Soviet Union, didn’t launch his second invasion of Ukraine under Trump. Putin feared Trump’s response. For his part, Trump had consistently advised the Europeans to do more for their own energy needs and defense through NATO.

A Putin comrade, Islamist Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, now openly says that anti-communist Poland is the next  target after Ukraine.

It is apparent that Russia has a very close ally, Communist China, which backs Putin’s war in Ukraine and is seen by some as the leader of the World Communist Movement. Ideologically, this is the case. Our book The Sword of Revolution and the Communist Apocalypse documents Chinese leadership in the area of Marxist dialectics, a form of warfare that has confused many in the West into thinking the communist world is divided in its ultimate purpose – world communism.

Russia was the first communist nation on earth and remains so to this day. The old institutions of the Soviet Union, including political parties, have remained in place but have changed their names, in order to fool the West.  Russia uses the same tactics and strategy of Soviet Russia. One change has been that Russia today targets conservatives in Europe and America.  Jean Robin, author of France, a Colony of communist China, hosted Jeff Nyquist, Trevor Loudon and myself for a program on this very topic.  Click here to watch. We address modern variations of communist defector Anatoliy Golitsyn’s charges, made in two books, New Lies For Old, and Perestroika Deception.

It was Mikhail Gorbachev, one of Putin’s biggest supporters, whose original mission was to keep communism going under a different name while continuing his commitment to a one-world communist state. He said on November 2, 1987, “We are moving towards a new world, the world of communism. We shall never turn off that road.” This statement concluded his report, “October and Perestroika: The Revolution Continues.”

For those who still cling to the fiction of the “Sino-Soviet spit,” the facts show that Communist China was the official spawn of the Soviet Union. Bertil Haggman, director of the Center for Research on Geopolitics in Sweden, notes that the Communist Party of China was actually founded by a Bolshevik Soviet agent, Grigori Naumovich Voitinsky, a Russian born in Belarus in 1893. Hagmann tells me, “Voitinsky, the real founder of CCP, grew up in the U.S., joined the American Socialist Party, was active in the USA and Canada. He went to Soviet Russia after the Bolshevik coup d’état and was in China as a Comintern agent. Little seems to be known about his time as a socialist in the West.”

Looking back at the history of socialists in the West, Putin himself declared that “…the[U.S.] Democratic Party is traditionally closer to the so-called liberal values, closer to Social Democratic ideas, if compared to Europe. And it was from the Social Democratic environment that the Communist Party evolved.” He went on to say, “…I was a member of the Soviet Communist Party for nearly 20 years, or more precisely 18 years. I was a rank-and-file member, but it can be said that I believed in the party’s ideas. I still like many of these left-wing values. Equality and fraternity. What is bad about them? In fact, they are akin to Christian values.”

Putin “left” the Soviet Communist Party, which exists today as the Russian Communist Party, and established a “new” political party, United Russia. The change was part of a strategy to get Russian access to international and American financial institutions.

This background helps us understand that when Democratic Party operatives in the U.S. intelligence establishment dismissed reports of Hunter Biden’s laptop as Russian-inspired, they were in fact serving the interests of Russia. It’s strange but true. This kind of attack follows the pattern of the Russia-gate investigation – using charges against supposed Russian influence to divert attention from what the Russians are really doing.

As we know, the laptop was real and sheds light on influence peddling by Hunter benefitting both the Russians and the Chinese.  But on another more important level, such influence helps explain why the American establishment, including the FBI and CIA, seemingly fail to understand the world communist movement. Russian infiltration of both agencies goes back decades, with the latest example being Charles F. McGonigal, formerly the FBI’s top counterintelligence official in New York. The tip of the iceberg, he was indicted for serving Russian interests. He could spill the beans of Russian influence in the entire FBI.

On still another level, that of street action, various communist groups with an allegiance to Moscow or Beijing are still active in the United States. Yet they are not subject to surveillance by the FBI. They include the ANSWER Coalition, a front of the communist Workers World Party which is behind a March 18 demonstration at the White House in Washington, D.C. Interestingly, a key demand, “End the $100 Billion in arms shipments to Ukraine,” is something heard regularly on so-called conservative Stephen K. Bannon’s “War Room” show on the Real America’s Voice and Frank Speech channels.

The Republican House of Representatives, which is now investigating Communist China, should revisit the work of the old House Internal Security Committee, which produced several important reports on the communist movement, including a 1974 congressional study, “The Workers World Party and its Front Organizations.” This committee, now defunct, was the successor to the House Committee on Un-American Activities, which uncovered dramatic communist infiltration of Hollywood and forced the studios to clean house.

Exposing China, as the Republican House is now doing, while operatives like Bannon and personalities like Tucker Carlson make excuses for Russian aggression against Ukraine undercuts the anti-communist movement that President Reagan led. We need a united anti-communist approach that does not forgive the crimes of Russia and opposes the Russian imperialism of Vladimir Putin.
