Conspiracy theorists freak over UK’s ‘armageddon alert’ by claiming New World Order plot

Conspiracy theorists started “freaking out” after UK Ministers confirmed the date for the first nationwide test of the UK’s ‘armageddon alert’ system.

Millions of people across the UK will hear a loud alarm from their mobile phones, along with a test alert message on Sunday April 23.

The system – modelled after similar schemes in the US, Canada, the Netherlands and Japan – is intended to be used in situations such as flooding and wildfires.

It will initially focus on the most serious severe weather-related events, with the ability to get a message to 90% of mobile users within the relevant area in an emergency.

However, Vice reports, that some conspiracy theorists think the trial is part of a “globalist” plot and a “precursor of what’s to come.”

They see it as “part of a nefarious plot to bring about a dystopian New World Order,” the title reported.

“If this wasn’t a precursor for what’s about to come then I don’t know what is. If this doesn’t wake people up, then I don’t know what will,” raved Mick Stott, the leader of sovereign citizen group Guardians 300.

He claims that you will be forced to respond to the alert and that any response would allow government spyware to be installed on Brits’ phones.

Stott added that it is a compliance exercise as part of a “scoping strategy…ahead of them crashing the banks.”

Chris Proops, an OSINT specialist at Logically, an organisation that combats online misinformation, told Vice that theories that the World Economic Forum and the World Health Organisation are trying to bring about a so-called “Great Reset” are abound.

Another expert said the response was “unsurprising in a lot of ways.”

“The conspiratorial mindset will always default to the belief that nothing is as it seems,” Aoife Gallagher, an author and an analyst at ISD Global, said.

People who do not wish to receive the alerts will be able to opt out in their device settings, but officials hope the life-saving potential of the messages means that users will keep them on.
