COVID-19

‘Rick & Bubba’ talk COVID ‘propaganda’ and resistance to Wuhan…

Rick Burgess and Bill “Bubba” Bussey of the “Rick & Bubba Show” discussed how questioning the U.S. government’s stance on COVID-19 and the vaccine has been mocked and ridiculed. Now, they say more evidence is emerging that some of the so-called conspiracies may actually be true.

The conversation started Thursday morning with the pair discussing the origin of COVID-19. A new report suggests the first three people sickened by the virus were three Chinese scientists studying SARS viruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“When it became political, we killed people unnecessarily,” Rick Burgess said.

Bill “Bubba” Bussey agreed with that statement. He then went on to claim that the Chinese military took over the lab after COVID-19 was discovered.

“The Chinese military was working and looking at this with eyes on making it a biological weapon, no doubt,” Bussey added. “It got away from them and we had a worldwide pandemic.”

The new information on the origin of the virus was reported by Matt Taibbi, Michael Schellenberger and Alex Gutenag on Substack’s newsletter, Public.

After years of speculation about the Wuhan lab and with intelligence agencies at odds about where the virus originated, Burgess said “propaganda” has overridden common sense on the matter.

“That narrative was so demonized that if you went there, you were a wicked person and you were a conspiracy theorist and you were a whack job,” said Rick.

Alina Chan, a molecular biologist and scientific advisor at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard said when she published a May 2020 research paper on the lab-origin possibility, she was “criticized as a conspiracy theorist.”

“If there truly had been dispositive evidence for a natural origin of COVID, the scientists and journalists who sold us the pangolin and raccoon dog story wouldn’t need to worry about the WIV [Wuhan Institute of Virology] scientists who did risky SARS-like virus work and developed COVID symptoms in 2019,” Chan tweeted.

Bussey pointed out that social media posts about the Wuhan lab were blocked on social media and the theory was denied or downplayed by media.

However, Chan said if the information would have been made public in the beginning, the pandemic may have been re-shaped

“I feel vindicated, but I’m frustrated,” she said. “If you knew that this was likely a lab-enhanced pathogen, there are so many things you could have done differently.”

Following the discussion on the origin of COVID-19 during the show, Burgess and Bussey discussed the COVID vaccine and the controversies surrounding it.
