Antivax doctor struck off for advice on falsifying vaccine records

An NHS doctor prominent in the antivax movement has been struck off for encouraging parents to lie about their children’s immunisation status, following an investigation by The Times.

Jayne Donegan, a GP based in London, gave paid lectures during which she discussed the efficacy of vaccinations and the risk of adverse reactions.

During an MMR vaccine event in June 2019, which was attended by an undercover reporter, she told the audience how to falsify a personal child health record, or red book, which contain vaccine history and are checked by schools and GPs.

Donegan said she would “get struck off” for giving such advice herself but said parents could avoid questions in A&E about whether their child was up-to-date with vaccinations by acting stupid, “because
