L’image 313: An Fantastic New JFK Documentary

In the run-up to the 60th anniversary of the JFK assassination on November 22, we can expect an increase of books, conferences, and presentations relating to the assassination. It will be difficult for them to match the extremely high quality of a fantastic new documentary entitled L’image 313, which has just been produced by a man in France named Yannick Rolandeau.

Over the course of the last year, Rolandeau and I have been corresponding. He told me that he was working on the film with a very low budget. Last week he sent me a link to the final product. As I began watching his film, I was astounded. His one-hour-long film is one of the finest documentaries on the JFK assassination that I have ever seen. I cannot recommend it too highly.

The documentary revolves primarily around the famous Zapruder film of the assassination and, specifically, the CIA’s production of a fraudulent, altered copy of the film on the very weekend of the assassination.

Sound familiar? That’s because that’s the theme of my most recent book An Encounter with Evil: The Abraham Zapruder Story. In fact, my book is cited prominently in Rolandeau’s documentary. Also prominently cited is Douglas Horne’s work in this same area, as well as his watershed 5-volume book Inside the Assassination Records Review Board.

The title of Rolandeau’s excellent documentary — L’image 313 — refers to Frame 313 of the Zapruder film, which is the only frame in the extant Zapruder film that depicts a fatal gunshot to Kennedy’s head. As I detail in my book, some 50 years after the assassination famed CIA photoanalyst Dino Brugioni established that the original Zapruder film had multiple frames depicting the head shot and was entirely different from what Frame 313 in the extant Zapruder film depicts. Brugioni’s statements were powerful evidence that corroborated other evidence demonstrating beyond a reasonable doubt that the extant film is a fraudulent, altered copy of the original film, as I detail in my book and as Rolandeau describes in his documentary.
