Colorado has some of the most reported UFO sightings in the US

DENVER (KDVR) — Throughout the years, people across the world have reported strange sightings. Whether it’s an odd flashing light or an inexplicable orb, national records show UFO sightings dating back before the 2000s.

Whether you believe in aliens and UFOs or not, there have been sightings all over the country, with some coming from Colorado.

UFO sightings in the US

The National UFO Reporting Center keeps track of reports of UFO sightings around the world. These sightings usually name the location, shape of the UFO and description of what the reporter saw.

These reports date back to 1998, but there have been many recent reports, with sightings in February of 2024.

The map below shows the locations of reported sightings in the U.S. The green dots are more recent sightings.

Some people on the reporting base describe the UFO as a “flash,” while others describe their sighting as more of an “orb.”

Of the thousands of reports, the NUFORC highlighted some cases that it believes to be the most reputable. These reports tend to be from trained observers such as pilots, reports of anomalous structured craft seen at close distances and reports with interesting and clear video or photographic evidence.

While reports come from all over the country, some states have seen more reports than others. The following data is between 1998 to Feb. 13, 2024.

Out of the thousands of reports in Colorado, there are three highlighted cases. Two cases were in Colorado Springs and the other was in northwestern Colorado into Wyoming and Utah on UAL 1325, according to the report.

One report describes what two people saw:

Three lights forming a triangle, converging, disappearing. Then reappearing forming a triangle, converging then disappearing again.

We were the pilots from United 1325 DEN-PDX. About 50 miles from the northwestern border of Colorado on a heading of 285 at 38,000 feet, we noticed a series of lights, appearing at first to look like three light bright stars or satellites forming a triangle, at two o’clock high. As we watched this the lights moved going west to east then up and down converging and then disappearing. They stayed in our approximate 1:30 to two o’clock position appearing to be well above us. The patterner of forming a triangle, converging, moving, and then disappearing continued every two-three minutes for approximately 20 minutes as we passed the Wyoming border and then into Utah. They appeared to be far away at a high altitude.

The other pilot I was flying with mentioned that he had seen the same moving pattern of lights on a different day in the same location in northwestern Colorado.
