Rumble’s self-proclaimed “absolute real best” content promotes conspiracy theories

September 11, 2023: During the week of the 22nd anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Rumble selected multiple videos as “editor picks” that pushed false conspiracy theories about the attacks. One video, in part titled “The Shocking Masterminds Behind 9/11,” had as its description, “Kevin explores, in a very fact based way, who could have been behind the 9/11 plot and he mostly points to Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld,” referring to the then-vice president and then-secretary of defense. Another video featuring the attacks in its thumbnail was from Rumble Exclusives channel The Quartering and falsely claimed that World Trade Center Building 7 was demolished by pre-rigged explosives. The host described the theory as “pretty interesting” and “stuff that we can only talk about on Rumble.” (In December 2022, before the channel announced it would be going “live on Rumble, exclusively,” Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski said Rumble would “definitely” put the channel “in editor picks if he multicasts it to Rumble.“) [Media Matters, 4/11/239/14/23; Twitter/X, 12/23/22]
