The Connecticut Cryptid and UFO Convention is coming to Trumbull Marriott this weekend, according to organizers.

The event runs Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, from noon to 6 p.m., per their website. Tickets are $30 each.

“Team Empath Presents a cutting-edge convention about the unknown and mysteries of this world and the next,” organizers said. “A great experience with vendors, lectures, Ufologist and Cryptozoologist.”

Artifacts will be on display as well, such as a dress from a UFO abduction case and a $70,000 collection of E.T. artifacts with haunted dolls and more, per a statement by organizers.

“Connecticut is home to a very infamous Cryptid, particularly in Trumbull, on Velvet Rd aka Dracula Drive,” according to organizers.

“Some people believe that these are humanoid creatures that wreak havoc on people in Trumbull. ‘What a better place to do a convention,’” said Nick Grossmann, co-founder of Team Empath, and who is known as a co-producer of Paraconn in Ansonia and Salem Paracon in Mass.

“Connecticut is one of the most haunted places you could be in with lots of legends but there was always one that fascinated me the most, and that’s The Melon Heads,”  Grossmann said in an email. Grossmann said he was intrigued because the name “Mellon Heads” sounded silly but people in Fairfield County and The Valley “swear up and down they are real.”

“Some people claim to have even been attacked by them. There’s one guy in Ansonia who was chased by them,” he said. “I think they are cryptids and have a cloaking ability.”

Ronny LeBlanc from Discovery Channel’s Expedition Bigfoot will be in attendance, according to organizers, along with other individuals. You can find the full list of attendees and more information on the convention here.
