Fox’s Greg Gutfeld Declares 2024 Race ‘Over,’ Is Already Floating a Rigged Election
Greg Gutfeld declared the 2024 presidential race “over” for Vice President Kamala Harris during Tuesday’s edition of The Five on Fox News. In doing so, he questioned the “integrity” of the upcoming election and appeared to lay the groundwork for claims that the contest may be stolen from former President Donald Trump.
The race is close, with some polls showing that Harris’s lead over Trump has dwindled. Nevertheless, Gutfeld channeled his inner Fox News Decision Desk and declared a winner.
“The only thing Kamala has in the bag is a bottle of Pinot Grigio,” he said to silence before questioning the transparency of the election. “The race is over, but the integrity of the election is still in question. I’m extremely confused by the polls, right? They say– everybody says, ‘Look at these polls.’ But the internal polls are different, and it’s like, ok, if the internal polls are better, why don’t we look at the internal polls? Screw the other polls.”
He added, “There’s been a huge new demand placed on the voter in terms of vigilance about the election.”
Trump infamously and falsely claimed the 2020 election was rigged against him. Following the contest, he tried to pressure officials in states he lost to subvert the election results so he could stay in power. When that failed, he held a rally in Washington, D.C. and urged Vice President Mike Pence – the presiding officer over the election’s certification in Congress – to refuse to certify the results. When Pence declined, many rally-goers stormed the Capitol to try to prevent certification. Some chanted, “Hang Mike Pence!” It took several hours to restore order and resume certification.
In response, Trump has been indicted in federal court for trying to overturn the election. He also faces state criminal charges in Georgia for trying to subvert the result in that state.
