Lauren Boebert says ‘Earth is flat’ at UFO hearing but Internet isn’t sure if she’s trolling or serious
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) mocked Defense Department officials by proclaiming “the Earth is flat” during a hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs) on Wednesday, November 13.
The Congresswoman made the remark right before questioning Michael Shellenberger, founder of Public, during the House Oversight Committee hearing.
It’s been just over a week since the election, and Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has already openly said in a committee meeting that the “Earth is flat,” birds are government “drones” and “we never set foot on the moon.” Do you think she means it or is she being facetious?🤔 pic.twitter.com/7e4CE1rTES

Lauren Boebert casts doubt on Joe Biden’s 2020 vote count as she brings up flat Earth theory
“Now that we have all been cautioned in this committee hearing that the mention of the Pentagon’s Immaculate Constellation program could put us on a list. Well, I already find myself on many lists, I’m sure, as I speak my mind often. So why not just keep going with it?” said Lauren Boebert.
She added, “May as well just go all out and say it. The Earth is flat, birds are government drones, and we’ve never set foot on the moon, and Joe Biden received 81 million votes in the 2020 election. So, let’s just see how many lists we could get on here today.”
The Colorado lawmaker proceeded to question Shellenberger, an advocate for Donald Trump, on whether he concurred with the classification of UAPs “is not in the best interest of the people.”
“You know, President-elect Trump has repeatedly committed to greater transparency both on the UAP issue, on JFK files, on covert origins and many other things so I think that we need to make sure that the next administration is held accountable for that,” responded Shellenberger.
Boebert, who currently represents Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, won the state’s 4th Congressional District following the November 5 election.
Internet divided over Lauren Boebert’s ‘Earth is flat’ remark
Lauren Boebert’s “Earth is flat” comment from the House Oversight Committee hearing has sparked a debate among netizens, given her history with conspiracy theories and past support of QAnon. While some believe she was trolling the UFO experts, others think she was serious.
One wrote, “She also said Biden got 81 million votes, so yeah, she is trolling,” and another remarked, “It’s mind-boggling how people don’t understand what she’s saying lol”
A person said, “Obviously she wasn’t being serious,” while someone else added, “She’s stating it in sarcasm ya dope.”
“She’s tying to get you to do what you are doing- talking about it,” stated an individual.
One more said, “Everything she said is the truth,” with another person echoing, “She means it.”
