Fans think they’ve spotted the moment which proves Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul was FIXED – as conspiracy theories over Netflix bout continue

  • Paul beat Mike Tyson via unanimous decision following eight two-minute rounds
  • However, fans think they’ve spotted the moment which proved it was all staged

Fans online think they spotted the moment which proved Jake Paul and Mike Tyson‘s recent clash was fixed.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer beat the heavyweight legend by unanimous decision in an underwhelming contest in Texas.

The social media star, 27, was in control throughout the fight with Tyson, who is 31 years his senior, and revealed after the fight that he didn’t knock him out by choice.

However, conspiracy theorists on social media have claimed that the fight was staged and pinpointed a specific moment which they believe supports this.

One fan on X shared a clip from the fight which appeared to show Tyson about to land a hard right to Paul’s unprotected face.

Yet the 58-year-old, instead pulls his fist back. The caption to the video read: ‘Just in case anyone had any doubts’.

Footage from the fight went viral as people launched wild conspiracies about the fight

The event – which was broadcast live on Netflix – was the subject of widespread criticism, largely based on the 31-year age gap between the two men.

However, Paul is said to have made $40million (£32m) from fighting Tyson, while Iron Mike is said to have been paid around $20m (£16m) for the bout in Arlington, Texas.

It took Paul to a professional boxing record of 11-1 – with the one defeat coming against Tommy Fury in February last year – and it is unclear what will come next for the 27-year-old.

Many were surprised the fight was even sanctioned after it was initially delayed in June when Tyson suffered an ulcer flareup on a cross-country flight.

Last week, Tyson claimed he nearly died on that plane and ultimately had eight blood transfusions as he recovered from the incident.

So it was no wonder that Paul was favourite to beat Tyson, who is decades removed from his prime.

After the fight, Netflix issued a statement in response to widespread complaints about the quality of the livestream.

‘This unprecedented scale created many technical challenges, which the launch team tackled brilliantly by prioritizing stability of the stream for the majority of viewers,’ Netflix CTO Elizabeth Stone wrote to employees, as reported by Bloomberg.

The former undisputed king looked every bit of his 58 years against the social media star

‘I’m sure many of you have seen the chatter in the press and on social media about the quality issues,’ she continued.

Fans on both sides of the Atlantic faced poor image quality, prolonged buffering and spotty audio throughout Friday’s undercard.

Meanwhile, hundreds online complained of error messages, while ‘#unwatchable’ began trending on X.

And according to Downdetector, which tracks online outages, more than 80,000 customers were experiencing issues by 10:35pm New York time last Friday.
