Humankind has long pondered the possibility of extra-terrestrial life. Although no concrete scientific proof of alien life has emerged yet, a Republican Congressman in the US has made a notable claim. During an interview on Wednesday, US Representative Tim Burchett claimed that extra-terrestrials inhabit the ocean’s depths. He alleged that an admiral, who he chose not to name, informed him about an alien craft traveling at remarkable speeds underwater.

Congressman Burchett from Tennessee has been pushing for greater openness concerning UFOs. He is convinced that the US government is withholding information pertaining to extra-terrestrials. Burchett made these statements on a show hosted by former Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz.

“They tell me that something is moving at a speed of hundreds of kilometres per hour underwater. Its size was equal to a football field. This incident was documented. I have an Admiral who told me all this,” he said.

‘Nothing to Fear’

During the interview, Gaetz pointed out that most UFO sightings occur above water, asking Burchett if he believed there was any truth to these claims. Burchett responded that anything is possible considering the vastness of the universe. He also expressed confidence in the possibility of underwater bases. Burchett dismissed fears of alien threats, stating, “I am not worried that they will harm us. Because with the capabilities they have, they would have destroyed us long ago.”

What Does the Pentagon Say About Aliens?

Currently, no scientific evidence confirms the existence of extra-terrestrial life. However, the US Congress has seriously considered reports of these mysterious flying objects. Once a subject of ridicule, UFOs have become a serious topic. In March 2020, the US Department of Defence reported no evidence of UFOs, attributing unidentified objects in the sky to balloons, spy planes, and satellites.

In 2023, a former US Air Force intelligence officer claimed the government possesses alien bodies, a claim the Pentagon denied.
