‘Orbs over Colorado’: Internet reacts to viral clip of UFO sighting near Red Rocks –
A video of an unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) that was captured above Colorado has been going viral in recent days, amassing more than 175,000 views on the UAP Files Podcast Instagram page, alone.
The clip captures a collection of glowing lights that appear to be floating in the night sky above Colorado. According to the video’s source, who wished to remain anonymous, the lights were located above the foothills between Red Rocks Amphitheatre and a Lockheed Martin facility. While the specific Lockheed Martin facility wasn’t specified, it appears as if the spot being referenced may be a facility in the Deer Creek area of Littleton based on the source’s description, which is south of Red Rocks.
The sighting took place on January 12 from approximately 7:13 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with multiple reported witnesses.
“Witness, along with several others, observed unexplained orbs of light in the sky,” reads the UAP Files caption of the post. “The lights appeared to touch, disappear, and reappear, forming different shapes. They ruled out Starlink satellites due to their interaction and drones due to the altitude, restricted area, and unusual behavior. The sighting occurred during a quiet evening, with no sound accompanying the orbs.”

This isn’t the first time in recent history that a UFO or UAP sighting has been reported in this part of the state, with another case involving a person working at the Red Rocks venue reporting that a massive unknown object that stretched several hundred feet long appeared in the sky in the early morning hours of June 5, 2024. The account of that sighting went viral online, too.
As far as the more recent sighting goes, a report was also filed on the National UFO Reporting Center website out of Littleton for the same date and roughly the same time. Video and an image included in that report seem to indicate it was related to the same sighting, also capturing what appears to be the same cluster of four glowing orbs seen in the viral video.
As far as a possible explanation of the more recent viral report goes, floating lanterns were suggested in the community commenting section of the clip, as well as in the National UFO Reporting Center report that seems to be related to the same incident. A comparison of imagery of verified floating lanterns and the objects in the viral clip seem to indicate this is a plausible answer to the question of what the objects were.
