‘You clowns’: Ex-diplomat Susan Rice snaps back at critics spreading new conspiracy theory

Former U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice argued to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Friday evening that everything that went down in the disastrous White House meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was staged. On Saturday, Rice was striking out at her MAGA critics.

“Well, Wolf, in my estimation, it was a setup,” said Rice on Friday. “Let’s recall the sequence here. Zelensky reluctantly agreed to a bad deal regarding his mineral wealth for which he got nothing in exchange. Not as bad a deal as the original one that the Trump administration proposed, but still nothing in it for Ukraine. He nonetheless was prepared to sign it, to come to Washington, to have the opportunity to try to persuade Donald Trump, before negotiations get really underway, that Ukraine desperately needs security guarantees. So he came, hat in hand, to the Oval Office. Donald Trump kept the pool spray in there for 40 minutes, and was saying things that were outrageous that like, you know, Ukraine started the war and Russia is not the aggressor.”

Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist over the weekend responded to that, saying, “You can look at this and dismiss it as typical Democrat talking points, but you could also view it as almost a confession, one that includes details about the current ‘Get Trump’ effort.”

“Yes, Trump won the popular vote against unbelievable odds, but if you think Team Obama is being any less involved in quiet insurrections than they were during the first Trump administration (Russia collusion, Ukraine impeachment, etc.), you’re clueless,” she then added. “I’ll remind you that Susan Rice was in the small Jan. 5, 2017 meeting in the WH with other key Russia collusion hoax perpetrators.”

Trump confidante Roger Stone sad, “Susan Rice is one of the architects of the attempted Russian Collusion Coup on Trump not to mention lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop- why hasn’t she been arrested yet?”

Rice responded to the MAGA attacks on Saturday.

“You clowns are up to the same old tired crap,” the ex-diplomat said. “When your guy screws up and royally embarrasses himself and the U.S., you try to change the subject and lie about a favorite target to distract and deflect. For the record, I have never met Zelenskyy and never spoken to him. Ever. Or advised him or anybody around him. It’s a shame that you contend that it is in the U.S. national interest to sell out Ukraine and suck up to Putin.”
