For years, there have been numerous conspiracy theories about cell phone towers and in particular, 5G cellular service. And for years, there have been studies that have proven all of those conspiracy theories wrong.

Now we can add another study to the list. Researchers from Constructor University in Germany, hoping to “to close this debate,” exposed human skin cells to not only 5G electromagnetic fields, but also electromagnetic fields that are even more powerful to see what kind of effect they had.

“These results will contribute to counteracting the uncertainties with well-founded facts,” the researchers wrote in their study, which was published in the May issue of the journal PNAS Nexus.

“Due to the ever-increasing wirelessly transmitted data, the development of new transmission standards and higher frequencies in the 5G band is required,” they added, referring to the fact that current 5G networks operate on frequencies below 6 gigahertz, but will soon be increased to between 24.3 to 27.5 gigahertz and 39.5 to 43.3 gigahertz.

“Despite basic biophysical considerations that argue against health effects, there is public concern about this technology,” they wrote, adding that “skin penetration depth at these frequencies is only 1 mm or less.”

To prove it, they exposed fibroblasts (the most common cells of connective tissue) and keratinocytes (the primary type of cell found in the epidermis) to electromagnetic fields up to ten times the permissible limits for 2 hours and 48 hours in a fully blinded experiment. Guess what happened?

“The almost complete absence of effects of exposure of human skin cells on the tested parameters, even at 10 times the exposure limits, are on the one hand very well in line with biophysical facts: at the frequencies tested here, the quantum energies are far too low to have photochemical or even ionizing effects,” the researchers wrote in their conclusion. “On the other hand, it shows how important it is to precisely control, document and, if necessary, compensate for the temperature effects caused by the exposure.

“In spite of assessments from the WHO in 2010 and the National Toxicology Program (NTP), this topic is still prevalent in the media, in public opinion and in the political sphere. This is in part due to a few isolated scientific studies providing opposing evidence.”

Some previous studies did show that prolonged exposure to high-intensity frequencies can cause heat-related damage. Their study, however, removed the heat factor.

“Due to our strong emphasis on highly controlled experimental conditions and our combinatorial analysis, we hope to close this debate and in particular cast fundamental doubt on the existence of possible nonthermal biological effects of exposure,” they wrote.

So, will these results stop conspiracy theorists from spreading stories about 5G fueling the coronavirus pandemic and the spread of SARS, mapping the insides of bodies and homes, or being used as some sort of disguised government weapons system? Probably not.
