AND I SAW GIRLS THAT JUST THEY LOOK BETTER. THEY FELT BETTER. THEY WERE GLOWING MORE AND I WAS LIKE, OKAY, LIKE LET ME TRY. SHE ALSO NOTICED INFLUENCERS TALKING ABOUT HEART HEALTH. WE HAVE HEART PROBLEMS IN MY FAMILY SO I CAN PREVENT THAT FROM HAPPENINGTO ME. I ALWAYS TELL MY SISTERS, MY DAD GET THINGS WITH AVOCADO. OIL COCONUT OIL. THAT’S WHAT I WANT TO DO. THERE’S PLENTY OF HEALTHY FOODS THAT MIGHT HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF THE SEED OILS THAT DOESN’T MAKE THEM UNHEALTHY BECAUSE IT CAN BE FOUND IN FOODS THAT ARE BAD FOR YOU LIKE MORE. Social media has people ditching seed oils.“It was all on my phone, and I try not to listen to everything on TikTok and Instagram, but I see people that do before and after when they change their diet. And I saw girls that just, they looked better, they felt better, they were glowing more, and I was like, OK, let me try,” said Gabriella Costa, who avoids seed oils.To find out if seed oils are as bad as some influencers are saying, we had a conversation with nutritionist Erika Graziani.“Just generally speaking, they’re not toxic or necessarily unhealthy,” said Graziani. But she said that it’s not that simple.“Seed oils are widely used in a lot of these ultra-processed foods. So, if we’re eating a lot of those types of foods, we’re also getting extra salt, extra sugars, extra lots of things,” said Graziani.Since seed oils are in so many different junk foods, Graziani said they’re getting a bad name.
