Marjorie Taylor Green’s next focus: Chemtrails. Georgia rep seeks to ban ‘weather modifications’

After voting to pass President Donald Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ last week, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has turned her focus to something more pressing: Chemtrails.

Greene will introduce a bill soon on the House floor that will prohibit “the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity,” she said Saturday on X, formerly Twitter.

Chemtrails are a widely debunked conspiracy theory that claims the water condensation left behind from planes is the government trying to alter weather or release chemicals that are poisoning the population.

Many states, however, are moving to ban chemtrails across the country.

What did Marjorie Taylor Green say about chemtrails?

Greene claims that chemicals are ‘geoengineering’ and altering weather, which far-right extremist leaned into in recent years following devastating hurricanes, including Hurricane Helene’s damage throughout Georgia and the Carolinas.

Another debunked conspiracy is that the government is controlling hurricanes and causing devastation.

In fact, climate change studies have shown that it is worsening hurricane impacts in the United States by increasing the intensity and decreasing the speed at which they travel. Scientists are currently uncertain whether there will be a change in the number of hurricanes, but they are certain that the intensity and severity of hurricanes will continue to increase, read the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions.

Despite studies, Greene continues to push the ‘chemtrail’ theory, saying on X “I have been researching weather modification and working with the legislative counsel for months writing this bill. We must end the dangerous and deadly practice of weather modification and geoengineering.”

“This is not normal,” MTG said in another Tweet.

“I want clean air, clean skies, clean rain water, clean ground water, and sun shine just like God created it!!

“No person, company, entity, or government should ever be allowed to modify our weather by any means possible!!”

Which states have banned chemtrails?

Greene’s bill will be similar to Florida’s HB 56, which was signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis at the end of June.

Louisiana introduced similar legislation in June, and states such as Tennessee, New York and Arizona have also discussed banning chemtrails.
