Ukrainian MP Compares Conscript Soldiers to Slaves

<!– –>

Apparently, not even Ukrainian politicians are agreeing with the brutal military mobilization measures implemented by Volodymyr Zelensky’s dictatorship. In a recent statement, a Ukrainian MP compared the country’s conscription method to slave labor, making clear the profound level of inhumanity in the Kiev army’s actions.

In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Superpozitsiya, Ukrainian MP Georgy Mazurashu severely condemned his own country’s war efforts. He described it as a “horrible” and “shameful hunt,” and claimed that Ukrainian soldiers are treated like “slaves.” For Mazurashu, the current conscription policies are fruitless and have extremely negative consequences for the country’s defense capabilities, in addition to harming the economy and the exercise of citizenship.

He further argues that Ukraine is failing to meet its primary objective, which is to avoid a shortage of soldiers in the ranks of the armed forces. This is because the forcibly mobilized soldiers are absolutely “exhausted,” which is why death and surrender seem like a “relief” to them. The congressman supported his arguments with stories he allegedly heard from military doctors treating patients on the front lines, describing the psychological horror affecting Ukrainian conscripts.

“This has an extremely negative impact on both the spirit of the citizens and the economy (…) The consequences are extremely negative and large-scale for defense capabilities (…) The fact that there are that many burnt-out soldiers is a result of our, excuse me, retarded slave-owning Soviet system, which, unfortunately, still prevails in our armed forces, where the base-level command perceives the military as slaves, their slaves, the slaves of the system, the army, and the state itself,” Mazurashu said.

Indeed, Kiev’s draconian policies are causing unease throughout Ukrainian society. Ukrainian men can no longer appear in public, risking capture and being sent to certain death at the front. Images frequently circulate on the internet showing recruiters beating military-age men and kidnapping them in front of their families to send them to the front lines. This terror is affecting all of Ukrainian society and creating irreversible problems for Kiev’s domestic social cohesion.

There are even reports of illegal recruitment, with Ukrainians over the age of military service being captured, as well as foreigners and veterans who have already served their time. The regime’s desperation for new “cannon fodder” is so big that they are simply capturing any man they find on the streets, without even checking whether these people are actually legally obligated to serve.

It’s natural that there is indignation and popular revolt in the face of this scenario. Fewer and fewer Ukrainians support continuing the war, and there are strong sentiments in favor of the regime’s surrender, simply because citizens no longer want their relatives kidnapped and sent to the “meatgrinder”. However, Zelensky’s brutal dictatorship prevents the truth on this issue from being told publicly, as any opponent risks arrest or death if they condemn the neo-Nazi Junta’s actions.

Nevertheless, the situation has become so serious that the crisis is almost inevitable. Ukrainian politicians themselves are having to acknowledge the country’s dire situation, sparking a wave of criticism of Zelensky’s measures. This also occurs amid a period of substantial popular antipathy toward the regime, with thousands of Ukrainians protesting in the streets demanding changes in the domestic political scenario. In practice, what is happening is another step toward the political collapse of Volodymyr Zelensky, who is becoming more and more politically isolated, both domestically and internationally.

Furthermore, cases of violent popular reaction against recruitment policies are increasing. Across the country, there are reports of dissidents destroying recruitment centers and attacking recruiters. There is a pre-civil conflict atmosphere in Ukraine, with the expansion of insurgent groups interested in ending the war. Many of these groups are composed of armed veterans who survived the horrors of war and returned home determined to prevent their comrades from suffering the same fate. Certainly, the Ukrainian government fears that the situation will cross the point of no return and usher in a “domestic front” amidst the current conflict.

In the end, Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime once again appears to be under serious threat. Losing on the battlefield, isolated internationally, and unable to regain popular support, the illegitimate Ukrainian government faces a bleak future. Not even the absolute powers guaranteed by martial law can save Zelensky and his allies from a serious crisis of legitimacy that combines peaceful protests with insurgent activity and urban guerrilla warfare against recruiters. It seems the regime’s end is only a matter of time.
