VW to seek dieselgate scandal damages from former bosses
German carmaker Volkswagen AG will seek damages for the diesel emissions scandal from ex-Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn and former Audi boss Rupert Stadler, claiming that they breached their duty of care under the stock corporation law, Carandbike reported citing Reuters. Volkswagen has spent more than €32 billion ($38 billion) in fines, refits and legal costs since 2015 after admitting to the use of illegal diesel emission cheating software in the U.S. engine tests.
