LETTER: America has been discontented with tyranny before

After a long costly war, contentious political struggles, and by compromise, the United States of America came into existence, a unique-in-the-world constitutional republic that recognized the states and all people as individuals, free from an all-powerful remote government. The Bill of Rights protected citizens from government tyranny. Separation of powers, limited and enumerated powers, and states’ rights precluded a smothering central government of powerful special interests. No other government in the world was based on those principles. Benjamin Franklin’s 1787 answer, “A republic if you can keep it,” warned that only with an accurately informed, engaged populace could the country survive. “Freedom is lost gradually from an uninterested, uninformed and uninvolved people,” Thomas Jefferson wrote. “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other,” said John Adams in 1798.

Contrast Adams with Chairman Gerald Nadler (D-NY) on the House floor Feb. 25, who said, “What any religious tradition describes as God’s word is no concern of this Congress.”

Today, continuing arbitrary closures of churches, schools and businesses, zero bipartisanship, legislation without committee work, a flood of Executive Orders (called a “dictatorship” by then-candidate Joe Biden), etc., the Democratic Party mimics King George and the Tories, favoring remote all-powerful central government that dictates people’s lives. Like in the 1770s, an elite ruling class and unaccountable bureaucracy wield the power, serving and enriching powerful, well-connected special interests. Those supporting the Founder’s constitutional principles of individual rights and limited government are aggressively “canceled.” What happened?

After decades forcing “Darwinism,” “Social Justice” and “climate change” into the schools, millions are indoctrinated to unquestioningly obey or be cancelled as “deniers” or “racists.” Millions are oblivious or disbelieving of the truth, relentlessly propagandized by ruling class control of news outlets and social media, the “woke” education establishment and powerful multi-billionaire internationalists, today all celebrating Biden’s “Great Reset” to fundamentally transform America away from President Abraham Lincoln’s 1864 Gettysburg goal of “government of the people, by the people, and for the people” to global governance. As Lincoln feared, his American ideal will “perish from the earth” unless the progressive power grab is reversed. God save America!
