Real Housewives Franchise’s New Crossover Event to Platform Vicki Gunvalson’s Anti-vax Tirades

It appears as though a large part of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip will be dedicated to the ever-topical anti-vax movement. Vicki Gunvalson, of Real Housewives of Orange County fame, is starring in the second season alongside the other most watchable cast members of various Real Housewives chapters, including Dorinda Medley, Tamra Judge, Phaedra Parks, Brandi Glanville, and more. These women are the best at being reality-television stars, which means they are maestros of creating a story line, and for that they’ve been rewarded with this kind of all-star game of Housewives. It’s like if LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving, Luka Dončić, et cetera, were as good at creating nonsense drama as they were at, I don’t know, jump shots.

And when you’re playing with the best of the best, you have to rise to the occasion. Gunvalson has done just that, apparently. An anonymous Page Six source alleges that Gunvalson was menacing her fellow castmates, especially Dorinda Medley, vaccine advocate, about the COVID-19 vaccine. Gunvalson reportedly said that “everyone who got the vaccine is going to die,” per the insider.

That’s true! Everyone who gets the vaccine is going to die one day. Everybody who doesn’t get the vaccine is going to die one day too. We haven’t discovered the technology or magic to hold fast to this mortal coil. The jab merely delays the inevitable. Heavy stuff for a Monday, I know! Somehow, some way, Housewives always makes a person contemplate their own mortality.

Gunvalson’s already-documented aversion to the vaccine is not based in religion, despite some deep First Testament undertones of that proclamation. It’s a health issue. She recently told the Daily Mail that she didn’t get the vaccine due to “underlying issues,” which she then specified were “blood clots.” Unclear what she believes will kill off the rest of us.

The first season of Ultimate Girls Trip is set to air in November, and the second season, which just wrapped, is expected sometime in 2022. It was for round two that Gunvalson allegedly broke out the big anti-vax guns. They were filming for eight days in the Berkshires, usually a place for large-format group dinners, experimental theater, leaf peeping, and long walks. Now it’s the place for the “O.G. of the O.C.” to reportedly holler that roughly 183 million vaccinated Americans and however many in the rest of the world are going to die, like, tomorrow. A bummer for all those vaccinated viewers who were excited to watch the second season of the show, likely airing next year.
