Fashion Designer Alice McCall Defends Chemtrail Posts Over NSW Floods

“I use my platform to share information I find, and encourage people to ask questions. I’ll continue to do so.”

Designer Alice McCall has shared a string of questionable chemtrail posts on her personal Instagram account over the last few days.

The Australian fashion designer posted a video on Monday from a conspiracy group that believes the US and Russia control and alter the weather using geo-engineering for military purposes.

Harvard experts have debunked the theory that international governments and the über-elite secretly drop toxic chemicals from aircrafts to control civilians, and concluded that they have “not seen any credible evidence that chemtrails exist”.

At the peak of chemtrail discourse in 2016, cloud seeding — the real practice of spraying water particles to encourage conditions to create more rain — was used as evidence for chemtrails’ existence, and it has cropped up once again in McCall’s justification for the devastating recent floods in NSW.

As part of her rolling Instagram Stories, McCall also shared flight paths that could justify her hot take across the Northern Rivers region where she lives.

After being called out by Pedestrian for dangerously spreading disinformation to her tens of thousands of followers, McCall replied: “I value freedom of speech. I value community. I value personal sovereignty. I value fresh air and water”.

“I use my platform to share information I find, and encourage people to ask questions. I’ll continue to do so,” she said on Instagram.

McCall is not alone, with a number of residents in the Northern Rivers region correlating the floods to government weather manipulation on Facebook groups.

“People in the community have started to talk about cloud seeding, so I just started researching it on Google, what my findings were as I find it interesting,” she shared in a DM with one of the publication’s news writers via screenshot.

“Of course I’m not a scientist or expert, but I’m merely reposting my findings,” noting that the air and water “feels different”.

But while the Morrison Government has rightfully been called out for not doing enough to reduce emissions before their goal of 2050, and climate change has been tied to the recent severe weather in the state, it is irresponsible to warp scientific terminology to pedal an agenda.

AAP Factcheck recently also debunked cloud seeding being behind the NSW and Queensland floods, saying in March that the “claim is false” as weather and cloud seeding experts say it’s “impossible for the rain-making technology to work on such a large scale”.

“The incessant downpours are due to a La Niña weather system — a fact that has been stated publicly by the Bureau of Meteorology,” they concluded.
