Moon landing conspiracy theorist is mocked on The Chaser
A contestant from Channel Seven’s The Chaser has been mocked mercilessly online after emerging as a conspiracy theorist on the hit show.
In a pre-quiz interview with host Larry Emdur during Thursday’s episode, Laura, a mother-of-two, said she believed that the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing never happened.
Larry then began Laura’s round of questions by asking the name of the first person to set foot on the moon. She then answered correctly: ‘Neil Armstrong.’

A video of the bizarre moment, captioned ‘Peak comedy’, has gone viral on Reddit.
‘She should have answered, ”actor Neil Armstrong”,’ one user mocked.
Another viewer suggested, ‘her correct answer would have been “do your own research”.’

Other users got creative in their criticism of the Chaser contestant, with one commenting: ‘Neil Armstrong is an anagram of Mr Strong Alien -it was staring us in the face the whole time!’
One viewer suggested: ‘So Neil Armstrong must be an alien then?’
In their pre-round chat, Laura had told Larry she loved conspiracy theories.

Larry then wished her luck in the contest, before asking: ‘The first person to set foot on the moon was US astronaut Neil who?’
