British government data reveal very similar Covid hospitalization rates in vaccinated and unvaccinated people in many age groups
Guest Post by Alex Berenson
The stunning figures were secretly shown to a government vaccine committee in October but not released publicly until today.
The British government had data in October showing nearly identical rates of Covid hospitalizations in vaccinated and unvaccinated people during the summer 2022 Omicron wave.
In some age and risk groups, vaccinated people had higher rates of hospitalization than the unjabbed. For example, healthy 40 to 49-year-olds were more likely to be hospitalized with severe Covid if they had received one or two jabs than none.
The government quietly released the figures today, in an appendix to a report from its advisory committee on vaccinations.
The data also show that mRNA boosters are now among the most expensive and useless public health interventions ever tried on healthy adults under 50. That calculation applies even the $30 a jab price paid by governments and even without accounting for any side effects.
The British government calculated that to prevent a single case of severe Covid, nearly 1 million healthy adults under 50 would have to receive a booster. Those boosters would cost almost $30 million for the jabs alone, not counting the cost of administering them. (In the United States, Medicare pays health-care providers $40 per shot, and private insurers usually pay substantially more than Medicare.)
Yes, you read that right.
Almost one million mRNA boosters to stop one hospitalization requiring oxygen or intensive care in healthy people under 50, using optimistic assumptions about vaccine efficacy.
In its report to the government, the British advisory group – called the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation – essentially recommended discontinuing boosters for those adults, calling them of “limited ongoing value.”
(In the chart below, NNV stands for “number need to vaccinate” for each Covid hospitalization prevented, based on British government estimates of mRNA jab efficacy. Note that it does not account for hospitalizations CAUSED by vaccine side effects.
The yellow box highlights the estimates of the number of shots needed for people under 60 without major risk factors. Whole lotta jabbing going on!)

The figures are buried in the appendix to a report from an official British advisory committee on vaccinations. The British government has the figures for at least three months, because the UK Health Security Agency presented them to the committee on Oct. 25.
They cover the month of July 2022, a time when Britain was suffering a moderate summer Covid wave, and are stratified by age and “clinical risk” status.
In other words, they account for the two most important factors that determine whether someone with Covid will become seriously ill. They also break out “severe” hospitalizations, defined as patients needing oxygen or intensive care.
The figures offer uniquely clear evidence of just how useless Covid vaccines have become in the Omicron era. They show both that even unhealthy adults under 60 are at very low risk of Covid hospitalization – and that jabs appear to do little to further reduce the risk in most people.
Even unvaccinated people at high risk of Covid aged 50-59 had only about 1 in 45,000 odds of needing oxygen or intensive care in July, the figures show. People who had received one or two jabs had slightly higher odds, about 1 in 38,000, while those had received three or more had odds of about 1 in 80,000.
For people under 50, the risks of severe hospitalization were almost too low to measure. Healthy adults under 50 had odds of under 1 in 1 million, whether they were vaccinated or not.
Even adults over 70 had relatively low risks of severe hospitalization in July, about 1 in 20,000 if they were unvaccinated and 1 in 31,000 if they had received three or more shots.
