A Denbighshire County Council spokesperson said: “The council can confirm that the graffiti identified on the promenade yesterday has now been cleared.”
Mr Allman labelled it “idiotic”, while Cllrs Justine Evans and Barry Mellor (both Rhyl East ward, Denbighshire County Council) also condemned the act.
Cllr Evans said: “Such mindless acts of vandalism undermine all the hard work that is going on to improve Rhyl for both locals and visitors, and come at a cost to local ratepayers.
“I hope the police, with the help of the local community, will be able to track down who is responsible in this particular case so that this appalling act is not repeated.”
