Bizarre conspiracy theory sparked over footage of ‘alien stalking cops at mall’
A NEW Year’s Day incident at a shopping center in Miami has sent conspiracy theorists into a frenzy, claiming an alien creature’s presence sparked a mass police response.
The viral video making rounds on social media is from a news chopper that broadcasted the incident at Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami live during the early hours of January 1.

The video shows a swarm of Miami Police Department cruisers with their sirens surrounding the shopping center entrance.
However, several conspiracy theorists online claim the video shows a large gray alien creature outside, moving near police vehicles.
The conspiracy theorists claim the alien is what caused the large police response and that officials were covering up what really happened.
But, Miami police have since debunked the online rumors, telling TMZ that what people see in the video is the shadow of someone walking.

“If you look at the bottom of the shadow, you can see the person. No creature,” the police department told the outlet.
In fact, the immense police presence was sparked by a group of juveniles who were causing a riot inside the mall, according to an arrest report.
Miami police said the teens were lighting fireworks, throwing them in the air and at one another, and causing panic.
The kids entered multiple businesses and caused damage to several stores.

A large fight broke out among members of the group, police said.
Authorities escorted at least 50 juveniles out of the shopping center area and spotted another 15 kids beating up a driver nearby, according to the report.
The crowd of kids ran as more units responded to the scene.
Miami police arrested four juvenile males at a nearby parking garage after the battered victim identified two of them.
