Judge to issue bench warrant for Michigan lawyer pushing Trump’s voter-fraud scam: report

A lawyer for Donald Trump in Michigan is about to face a bench warrant, reported Detroit News reporter Craig Mauger on Thursday.

A 2022 Reuters report described Stefanie Lambert as “a defense attorney with financial woes before seizing on the election-denial movement for new business. Now she faces potential disbarment and a criminal investigation into voting-data hacks. Her journey highlights the key role lawyers played in a struggle shaking American democracy.”

Lambert was charged in Aug. 2023 as part of the voting machine investigation, the Associated Press said at the time. She is charged with “undue possession of a voting machine, conspiracy to commit undue possession of a voting machine, conspiracy to commit unauthorized access to a computer system, and willfully damaging a voting machine.”

In Oct. 2023, New York-based XRVision said that Lambert urged her employees to “manufacture findings in her efforts to overturn 2020 election results for Donald Trump’s legal team,” said an Arizona Republic report last year.

A Pennsylvania whistleblower said that he was interviewed by the F.B.I. several times about the ongoing efforts by Trump’s campaign to keep him in the White House despite his 2020 loss.

Lambert then allegedly hired a private investigator to help with the plot. Michael Lynch is alleged to have filmed testing an illegally obtained voting machine to prove it could be hacked, Bridge Michigan reported at the time, citing court filings. He is accused of meeting Missaukee County clerk in a mall parking lot to grab the equipment they wanted him to “test.”

By Feb. 23, 2024, Michigan Advance reported that the Lambert case was moving to trial while two others are being considered.

“I’m not losing any sleep over this,” Lambert told a conservative podcaster after being indicted. “I know that I’ve done absolutely nothing illegal. My clients have not done anything illegal.”
