The first COVID-19 vaccination centre
in Lombardy was vandalised with ‘anti-vax’ daubs overnight ahead
of Mobday’s day of remembrance for the the victims of the health
emergency that ravaged Bergamo in early 2020.

   
The first vaccination centre operating in Lombardy during the
Covid emergency, the Palaspirà in Spirano, in the province of
Bergamo, was vandalised last night with numerous large-scale ‘no
vax’ writings, local sources said.

   
The mayor of Spirano, Yuri Grasselli, spoke of “a cowardly
attack on the structure and an offence to our community’ carried
out by people without courage and dignity”.

   
On Monday, the national day in memory of the victims of the
Covid epidemic will be celebrated, and a Lombardy rightwing
League councillor, Giovanni Malanchini said that “the cowardly
act offends these people and their families who have suffered
because of the pandemic”.
