Sydney Sweeney Said She Voted for Trump in 2024 Election?

During and after Election Day, a rumor circulated on social media that actor Sydney Sweeney said she voted for former U.S. President Donald Trump.

One post (archived) garnered significant attention, with more than 10.7 million views and 226,000 likes as of this writing.

However, no credible sources had confirmed that Sweeney made such a statement. Likewise, no reputable news outlets had reported on the alleged story.

The X users who posted the claim provided no evidence of the actor announcing such news. Therefore, given the lack of evidence and its origins as a groundless rumor, we have rated this claim as unfounded.

Sweeney’s official social media accounts, such as X, Instagram and TikTok, contained no mention of her political views or voting choices. 

In response to the rumor, a fan account for the actor on X wrote:

STOP FAKE NEWS

Sydney Sweeney has NOT given her support to Donald Trump and she has not revealed her vote, SHE DOES NOT TALK ABOUT POLITICS and her decision is respected.

Stop using Sydney for political issues, get a life. #Election2024

In a similar situation in 2022, Sweeney had to address speculation about a family gathering when an image from her mother’s 60th birthday party surfaced, in which a participant reportedly wore a “Blue Lives Matter” T-shirt — a countermovement to Black Lives Matter that aims to show solidarity with the police.

She wrote in an X post: “An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone and Happy Birthday Mom!”
