Newsmax Host Shares Flat Earth Meme
Carl Higbie, a pro-Trump anchor on Newsmax, shared a meme from a flat Earth account on Instagram that falsely claimed NASA reused the same “Earthrise” photo for the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 missions.
The image, reposted from “Flat Earth Bulgaria” and credited to another flat Earth conspiracy page, suggested that identical cloud patterns proved the Moon landings were staged.
The account Higbie amplified is filled with flat Earth propaganda and links to downloadable literature promoting the theory.
The claim is easily debunked: the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 missions produced distinct images of Earth, each showing different lighting, continents, and cloud formations due to changes in time, weather, and orbital positioning. The meme in circulation simply duplicates an Apollo 11 image, resizes it, and relabels it as Apollo 12.

NASA’s archives confirm the originals are unique and authentic. It is unclear why Higbie chose to boost this flat Earth meme, but he wouldn’t be the first flat Earther in Trump’s orbit.
