‘Flat Earth’ conspiracy theorists claim a fountain in Sydney PROVES their beliefs are correct
- Flat Earthers believe a fountain in the heart of Sydney proves their theory correct
- The water feature in Darling Park’s Crescent Garden includes a flat world map
- Conspiracy theorists say the fountain’s design shows the real shape of the Earth

Flat Earth conspiracy theorists have seized upon a fountain they believe proves their claims about the shape of the planet.
The water feature in Darling Park’s Crescent Garden, in the entertainment precinct of Darling Harbour in the heart of Sydney, is being used in Flat Earther Youtube videos.
An Australian Flat Earther visited the site in person last year, and claimed the fountain proves it is possible to circumnavigate a ‘flat’ Earth.

On Tuesday another Flat Earther channel posted footage taken at the park with the caption ‘The Earth is flat … Space is fake’.
Commenters said the park’s unique design was evidence the Earth is really flat, and evidence of a global conspiracy.
‘They say that Flat Earthers don’t have a FE [Flat Earth] model. There it is in stone surrounded by flat water just like the oceans do in real life,’ said one person.
‘Awesome find, hidden in plain sight for the spinning ball believers, but they won’t see it due to their indoctrination,’ said another.
Others noted the obelisk in the centre of the fountain appears to be a sundial, and speculated about what Sydney residents think of the design.
‘Flat Earth in plain sight, I wonder what the local people make of this in their park?’ asked another Youtube user.
A Flat Earther on Instagram has a different theory about the obelisk, and claimed it symbolises the Tower of Babel and pierces the ‘Dome’.
Some Flat Earth believers claim there is a glass dome covering the Earth, which is a flat disc rather than a sphere.
In the video taken in July the person filming described the park’s design, which makes the shape of a Waratah when viewed from above, as a ‘pentagram’.
‘People ask how you circumnavigate the flat Earth, well you just go around in a big circle around it,’ he said.
Flat Earth conspiracy theorists have previously claimed Australia does not exist at all, claiming the whole country is nothing but an elaborately-constructed ruse.
The incredible claims were made at a Flat Earther conference in Birmingham in May, with believers arguing even airline pilots are in on the hoax.
Daily Mail Australia contacted Darling Park for comment.
