Moon Landing

Nicki Minaj’s theory about the moon landing is so on brand

Nicki Minaj said something out of this world on Tuesday: She doesn’t believe astronauts ever landed on the moon.

The controversial rapper-turned-recent-MAGA-poster-child expressed her belief in the debunked conspiracy theory during Tuesday’s episode of Katie Miller’s podcast.

It all started when Miller, the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, turned the topic to favorite conspiracy theories, and said, “Today, mine’s the chemtrails,” a reference to the also-debunked belief that somebody, somewhere, is manipulating the weather and other facets of global existence through the stealthy spraying of chemicals in the air.

Katie Miller then offered up other conspiracy theories, such as whether NASA really did land a man on the moon. That’s when Minaj offered her take.

“No, I don’t think we landed on the moon,” Minaj said.

Miller pressed her on the issue: “You don’t?”

“No,” Minaj replied.

Miller then pointed out she had once asked billionaire tech baron Elon Musk the same question, and “he said we did indeed land on the moon.” Minaj responded with a shrug, and Miller transitioned to a different topic.

It’s little surprise that Minaj might be prone to believing conspiracy theories. Back in 2021, she declined to attend the Met Gala because she didn’t want to get the COVID-19 vaccine, claiming a friend of a cousin in Trinidad somehow suffered some seriously swollen testicles after getting the shot.

Minaj is also not the only celebrity who has questioned whether the moon landing actually happened.

Back in October, Kim Kardashian admitted on an episode of “The Kardashians” that she thought the 1969 moon landing was a hoax.

In 2024, Ariana Grande took a lie detector test and answered “No,” to the question if she believed the moon landing was faked, but the polygraph indicated her response was “inconclusive.”

Back in 2018, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry admitted he thought the moon landing was faked on a podcast, only to end up getting an email from Barack Obama reprimanding him.
