Trump Amplifies Fake JFK Jr. Account That Promoted QAnon “Q Drops”

On Tuesday, Donald Trump reposted content from a fake “John F. Kennedy Jr.” account on Truth Social, amplifying an impersonation long associated with QAnon conspiracy theories. The account, operating under the handle @MrJohnJnr, falsely presents itself as JFK Jr., who died in a 1999 plane crash, and praised Trump as a principled figure who had been advocating “Make America Great Again” decades before his presidency.

Trump’s repost encouraged followers to engage with the account, despite its lack of any legitimate connection to the late Kennedy. The account uses a VPN indicating it could even be another foreign-based political influencer account pushing Trump.

The same account has previously pushed explicit QAnon content, including reposting a 2018 “Q drop” using the movement’s signature language and formatting, declaring, “Something BIG is about to drop.” QAnon adherents treat such posts as predictions of secret revelations or mass arrests, claims that have repeatedly failed to materialize.

The repost underscores Trump’s continued amplification of conspiracy-linked accounts, even as QAnon has been widely debunked and linked to political extremism and real-world violence.
