COVID-19

Replying to those who still believe “Covid” exists…

OffGuardian’s official position on the so-called Covid “pandemic” – as reasoned and evidenced in our “40 Facts” – is that no new or distinct disease existed, and that all illness labelled as “Covid” was due to reclassification of regular endemic diseases collectively known as “influenza like illness” (ILI).

Without fully re-litigating the case, this is backed-up by “Covid” symptoms being clinically indistinguishable from ILI, the “Covid” death rate being similar to ILI, and the complete statistical disappearance of seasonal flu during the so-called “pandemic”.

Over the last few days this has brought us into conflict with some fellow Covid sceptics who maintain that Covid does exist, and – moreover  – was likely engineered in a laboratory.

More specifically, we have clashed with people who claim they were infected with Covid and that it was “more than just the flu” – or some variation of those words meaning roughly the same thing.

But why? What is the conflict? And how can we reconcile these two positions?

Firstly, perhaps, we should tackle the word “just”. What does just the flu mean? The flu can be very serious. You can die of “just the flu”. It kills hundreds of thousands – even millions – of people every year.

Sorry, I should clarify  –  every year except 2020-2022.

Every year  (except 2020-22) upwards of one BILLION people are affected by a cold, flu or some variant of seasonal respiratory infection collectively known as “influenza-like illness”.

Even the healthiest adult will almost certainly get sick in this fashion multiple times in their life.

Every single year, some portion of those billion people will be “the sickest they have ever been”, have an unusual symptom, or be impacted by lingering post viral fatigue.

These have been facts for years, even decades.

Everyone needs to place these facts alongside their personal experience of being quite ill.

The sickest I have ever been involved a sudden very high temperature, a total loss of my voice (not a hoarse voice, I literally could not vocalise sounds at all and it took weeks to get back to normal) and fatigue which lingered for months.

Because this happened to me in 2017, it was just one of those things. I had the flu, it hit me in a weird way. Everyone has a story like that.

If it had happened to me in 2020 I might well have thought it was a special new disease.

But that would not be evidence, just my personal anecdote temporally aligning with propaganda, where billions of similar anecdotes did not.

When I posted this on X I was challenged in the following words:

Are you seriously suggesting COVID was a hoax?

I’m not a fan of the word “hoax” in general. But, in the loosest terms, Covid WAS a hoax. We know they faked things, the question is how much.

We know they faked death numbers by shifting definitions,

we know they faked cases with faulty tests,

we know they exaggerated hospital occupancy by reducing the number of beds,

we know they seeded social media with people that didn’t exist relating anecdotes that never happened.

Every sceptic acknowledges the Covid phenomenon involved fake elements. The debate is only over how many and how much.

To my mind, arguing the deaths were fake, the cases were fake, the tests didn’t work but the disease was real is highly illogical.

To then reinforce that argument with “I had Covid, it just felt different” becomes counter-rational.

In the world of medicine, young doctors are taught “when you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebras”.

Meaning the most common explanation is usually the correct one, sans exotic evidence don’t assume exotic answers. A medical Occam’s razor.

And yet we find ourselves surrounded by previously sceptical people insisting not only that the hoofbeats definitely ARE Zebras, just  zebras that happen to be indistinguishable from horses.

And also all the horses have disappeared.

“It wasn’t the flu, it was a genetically-engineered bioweapon with the same symptoms and mortality as flu.”

“That’s not a horse, it’s a big brown zebra without any stripes.”

Wading in to the debate, prominent medic Dr Meryl Nass posted an article to SubStack, titled:

I’ve been quiet–I think I have had this year’s version of COVID for the past week. I am going to describe it, especially for those who don’t think it exists.

In which she details her 7 day battle with “Covid”, and her symptoms of…

  • Runny nose
  • (very) sore throat
  • fatigue
  • fever
  • chills
  • nausea and loss of appetite
  • confusion and brain fog

…these symptoms are obviously not unique to ‘covid’. They’re not unique to ANYTHING. We have all had one or all of them multiple times.

It is a bad week. A heavy cold or a fairly minor bout of flu. Dr Nass herself even acknowledges this may not have been “Covid”…

Sure, maybe it wasn’t COVID… Maybe it was not a coronavirus and is something else.

Well, yes indeed – maybe, just maybe it was one of the 200+ other allegedly identified viral infections that can give you a bad cold.

If she’d left it there  it wouldn’t be quite so bizarre.

But she didn’t. Nope. This  alleged Covid-sceptic doctor closes her account of being ill for a week with (our emphasis)…

…now there is no reason not to ask if it (too) was engineered. Was the virus that struck me a natural mutation of a COVID virus? Or a natural mutation of some other virus? Or not? To what extent has the biowarfare genie left the bottle? We ought to be posing that question.

To which the only reasonable response is  – no, Meryl, we really shouldn’t in these paranoid times and based on absolutely zero evidence be planting the idea in people’s minds that their common colds might be biowarfare

What’s the end point here? Formless fear for the sake of itself?

Isn’t that what the authors of the “pandemic” narrative wanted, after all? A population living in fear?

Let’s try to remember what sanity felt like when it was a given and not just a pleasant surprise. Let’s remind ourselves  that people got the flu before Covid, before bio-labs, before Fauci, before civilisation even began.  And some of them got it really badly. And let’s remind ourselves – and Dr Nass – that if that exact week had happened to her in 2018, describing it as biological warfare or a genetically engineered virus would have been seen as completely nuts.

The Covid deception ran on a simple algorithm – take a mundane and normal flu season and lie about it until you make it scary.

To use that as a basis for reinterpreting run of the mill life experiences  as new and threatening just because “you have a feeling” about them is to fall for those lies, and to become  coopted by the agenda we’ve all been fighting for the last six years.
