No evidence of an FBI raid that revealed ‘fraudulent ballots’ in Houston

It’s Election Day, but a self-described “pro-Trump Administration” content creator is casting aspersions on the Democratic process instead, falsely claiming on social media that Democrats in Texas are rigging the midterm election.

Without evidence, posts on Facebook and X said more than 20,000 “fraudulent ballots” cast for Democrats were uncovered in an FBI raid of a warehouse in Houston “last night.”

Local election officials and the FBI said his claims were untrue.

“The information circulating on social media is false,” said Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth.

The FBI’s national office confirmed in a statement that the posts were false.

“No election-related operation occurred,” the statement said.

The posts’ images didn’t support the claim, either.

The first photo is old, and was taken in another state. It shows when the FBI searched the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center in Union City, Georgia, back in January.

The second photo shows a Houston Public Storage facility. We searched for news reports and on the Nexis news database and found no evidence of an FBI raid there, or at any other Public Storage facilities in Houston on either Nov. 2 or early morning Nov. 3.

The third photo shows ballots collected in October from an official drop box in San Francisco, California. In the top left corner the ballots say, “City and County of San Francisco Department of Elections.”

We reached out to the content creator behind these baseless posts on Instagram and did not receive a response.

We rate this claim Pants on Fire!
