U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall should focus on COVID-19 pandemic, not sedition

Tell us, Sen. Marshall, did you comprehend the oath of office you just took? Think back to Sunday. You can do it; it was only a few days ago. You did not pledge to support and defend an autocratic thug who wants to overturn a free and fair election. Please try to suppress your self-interest in sucking up to Trump’s base, and change your mind about participating in this coup attempt. Listen to Paul Ryan, Liz Cheney, Ben Sasse and other voices of reason in your party.

Donald Trump has concocted claims of widespread election fraud, but there was no widespread fraud. Talk about a hoax! Allegations are not proof, no matter how many tweets you fire off. Where is the evidence? Where? It’s all a lie proffered by a soulless narcissist who can’t fathom there are those who will not fall down and worship at his feet. He isn’t just a false idol, he is a criminal who hears the jailers in New York jangling their keys.

Wake up, Senator, before any more of Donald Trump’s stink rubs off on you. Do something of legitimate importance, like using your medical background to advocate for and advise about getting all of America vaccinated. We have lost more than 350,000 fellow citizens to a pandemic Donald Trump has turned his back on. Don’t you let us down, too.
